Bio

Award winning Irish photographer Richard Gilligan is well known for his documentary approach to portraiture and fashion. His raw photographic style exists somewhere between classic reportage and fine art documentary photography. This approach enables him to create personal and editorial bodies of work that focus on the real and intimate nature of people and their relationship to the environments they inhabit. Projects have included his award winning book DIY, an intimate collection of landscapes and portraits of life in homemade skateparks worldwide. Richard is currently based in Brooklyn, NY.
