Bio

Tracey Nicholson was born in Northern Ireland and graduated from Central St Martins. She began her career at Another Magazine assisting Fashion Director Alister Mackie and went on to work with Tabitha Simmons on her freelance projects and at American Vogue.

Tracey holds the position of New York Fashion Editor at i-D Magazine and contributes to publications including W, American and British Vogue, Another Magazine, Dazed & Confused, Teen Vogue and The Last Magazine.
She has worked on runway shows and as a consultant for 1205, Lacoste, Topshop, Felipe Oliveira Baptista and US Vogue/Fashion’s Night Out.

Her commercial clients include Hermès, Costume National, Helmut Lang, Lacoste, Swarovski, Edun, Theory, L’Oreal, Sunspel, Uniqlo and Nike.

Last June, Adam Lippes did something that few designers get to do: He got control of his label back from a big-time fashion conglomerate.

St. Louis-based Kellwood (whose holdings include Vince and Rebecca Taylor) acquired Adam, the designer’s popular men’s and women’s contemporary line, in 2010. It aimed to enlarge the scale, and started amping up production to match. The movement, Lippes recalls, was “more, more, more.” But now that he’s bought it back, he’s taking Adam the other way: small, elevated, personal. And with the exception of its celebrated t-shirts, it’s entirely womenswear.
