TLM09: EDIBLE SELBY
Todd Selby, the photographer and artist behind the ever-popular blog The Selby, is at it again. Two years ago his first book The Selby Is in Your Place offered a glimpse into the homes and happenings of some of the most engaging people throughout the creative industries. This time around, with Edible Selby, he has shifted his focus to food. “Good food has always been an obsession of mine,” he says. “Additionally, I thought that there was a whole other side to the food world that I hadn’t seen covered in a more humanistic way.” After traveling across the globe, Selby has compiled over forty profiles of some of the most dynamic personalities and purveyors he came across, from a sea forager in San Francisco and an artisanal salmon smoker in London to a buffalo cheesemaker in New Zealand. As expected, the photos are equal parts beautiful and mouthwatering. Expect to see some of Selby’s signature watercolor illustrations, short Q&A’s, and, as an added bonus, handwritten recipes from his subjects.
Edible Selby is out now from Abrams.
