TLM15 EXHIBITION WITH EBAY
New York Fashion Week flew by once again, cooling the city down in its wake. Despite it being September, though, summer didn’t feel like it had come to an end last Tuesday, when friends of The Last Magazine flocked to the Hole on the Bowery to show their support for the release of the magazine’s fifteenth issue in conjunction with eBay and Dassai sake. The pages of the new issue warmed the gallery’s white walls, and, thanks to a projected video of the creation of the cover, guests became spectators of the creative process behind the magazine’s focal image. There were lots of smiles and cocktails to be had as partygoers enjoyed the music of DJ Sita Abellan and mused over Krisár’s iconic sculpture of Daria Werbowy’s visage in the flesh, as it were. The consensus? Even cast in resin, the supermodel’s face is unforgettable. As usual, there were many familiar faces from the Last Magazine family to be seen, including Raury, Tao Okamoto, Arne Glimcher, Anders Krisár, Prabal Gurung, Johan Renck, Andreea Diaconu, Laure Hériard-Dubreuil, Kristina O’Neill, Anya Taylor-Joy, Julie Gilhart, Anna Speckhart, Carlos Quirarte, Thomas Hayo, Mukunda Angulo (whose props with his Wolfpack brothers are featured in the new issue), Eddie Borgo, Mazdack Rassi, Chrissy Angliker (another subject from the issue) and Jenné Lombardo. The night was a success, full of laughter, and, in keeping with the fifteenth issue’s art centered change of pace, lots of talk of new beginnings.
