Anyone can tell you that this season’s edition of New York Fashion Week has been an exceptionally brutal one. Howling winds, flying ice pellets, and gaping sinkholes of slush were just a few of the hazards we had to brave while running between shows and openings and dinners. There was another snowstorm on the horizon last Wednesday night, but conditions were clear—if a bit crisp—when we gathered to celebrate our Spring issue with a dinner and party with eBay at Indochine. The restaurant’s iconic palm fronds provided an apt contrast to the cold outside, adding a touch of tropical warmth as the gathered guests looked forward to sunny days to come. Designers Richard Chai, Phillip Lim, Derek Lam, Robert Geller, Prabal Gurung, and Thakoon Panichgul all celebrated their successful Fall 2014 shows, while editors and models like Kristina O’Neill, Derek Blasberg, Tim Blanks, Dirk Standen, Anja Rubik, Lindsay Wixson, Jacquelyn Jablonski, and Hanne Gaby Odiele took a break to relax before heading off to Europe. Cover girl Daria Werbowy was absent, but her iconic face stared up from every table as partygoers like Joe Jonas, Margherita Missoni, Elin Kling, Karl Lindman, Victor Glemaud, Tao Okamoto, Jenne Lombardo, Eddie Borgo, Mazdack Rassi, May Kwok, Chelsea Leyland, and Ric Pipino drank whiskey sours courtesy of Michter’s and danced to music by Sal Morale. As the party broke up in the early hours of the morning, the snow had begun to fall, but it was obvious that spring was just around the corner.
