MILK MAKEUP

Born from the stirring creative pulse of Milk Studios, Milk Makeup is a savvy beauty brand that stands all on its own. Although the line, which ranges from eye pigment and lip color to deodorant and dry shampoo, is largely gender neutral, inspiration originally came from the idea of the classic “Milk girl,” an ambitious, creative rebel who lives and breathes New York City. Just like its contemporary muse, the makeup line is versatile, varying in colors from neutrals to bright turquoises and hot pinks. As Georgie Greville, cofounder and creative director of Milk Makeup, says, “You can make a natural look but also do pretty wild stuff with our makeup. It’s what downtown New York girls actually want and use to live their lives.”

With natural ingredients, intense pigments, and sleek packaging stamped with the bold Milk logo, the brand really speaks to someone in charge of her look. “We’ve really pushed it to be the best it could possibly be and have the best ingredients it possibly can,” says Greville. “We set out to create an all-natural line, and we’ve come as close as we can while still having the results that people want.”

To help inspire the potential Milk girl—as if she needs it—Milk Makeup has also created nine signature looks designed by artist ambassador Frank B. “I’m really excited about these,” Greville says of the styles, which range from the bold-lipped Atomic to the barely-there Freshhh. “I feel like we have a responsibility to go a little weirder and go a little bolder. Girls can interpret that in whatever way they want, but the point is to express yourself and have fun with it.”
