ADIDAS FANATIC 2015

Pier 5, off the northwestern tip of Brooklyn, was loaded with street-style photographers this past Saturday, when New York was the last stop for the fourteenth annual Adidas Fanatic, a soccer tournament pitting industry teams against one another in a day filled with friendly competition, barbecue, and cold drinks. New York was perhaps the hottest—literally—stop on the tour, which also saw tournaments in London, Tokyo, and Berlin.

Adidas has been surging this year with high-profile collaborations—Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Raf Simons, BAPE, the Hundreds—and more adventurous designs and, thus, the tournament was place to be this weekend. Adidas Fanatic was seven hours of nonstop back headers, DJ’s blasting old-school Kanye, and an ice cream truck handing out dripping cones.

As the day heated up to a blazing eighty-six degrees, The Last United stuck it out and competed for our fifth year in three sweaty fifteen-minute games against Chinatown S.C., The Good Life!, and the Ace Hotel. A major thank you goes out to our incredible team: Michael Tuckman, Lily Sullivan, Mathias Lauridsen, Greg Spencer, Alex Moreno, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Paul O’Regan, and Christian Brylle.

Cheers to next year, Adidas.
