The Last Magazine Cohosts a Screening of Makenzie Leigh's "The Vanishing Princess"

On Wednesday night, The Last Magazine cohosted the New York screening of “The Vanishing Princess,” the début short film of actor-turned-director Makenzie Leigh, at the Roxy Cinema in Tribeca. Based on a short story by Jenny Diski, the darkly comedic film stars Leigh as a “woman who discovers she exists,” alongside Tony nominee Santino Fontana and Jon Orsini as two soldiers who duel for her attention and invent Cubism in the process. Guests including Waris Ahluwalia, Marcus Wainwright, Kitty Green, Evan Jonigkeit, Darius Khondji, Hannah Holman, Peter Poopat, and Timo Weiland joined Leigh and producer Marissa Velez-Kraxberger for the screening before heading upstairs for a reception at the Roxy Oyster Bar, toasting the new film until late in the evening.
