NEW WORK - CARLA KLEIN

We love supporting new talent. Every issue, we try to feature a few new works from some of our favorite artists. We give them free rein of a full-spread; the only limitations are the generous dimensions of the page. For our Spring 2014 issue, Carla Klein sent over the latest in her series of road paintings, which capture empty expanses of highway—as seen through the splotchy windshield—with smooth, swirling gestures that add a buzz of energy to a laconic vista. The work, along with several other of her recent paintings, will be on view in a solo exhibition opening Thursday at Tanya Bonakdar Gallery (521 West 21st Street, New York) and running through April 19.
