In the short time since its launch in 2011, ADEAM has come a long way. The young line, helmed by Hanako Maeda, takes its cues from a mix of East and West, pulling inspiration from the designer’s twin hometowns of Tokyo and New York. A recent move stateside helped set her up for bigger things, and she expands her reach around the globe this month with the launch of ADEAM’s online shop, which offers a range of the label’s classic and inventive pieces, from smooth asymmetrical tops to sweeping evening gowns.

“The wonderful thing about e-commerce is that you can reach out to anyone in the world, regardless of the location,” says Maeda. “It really serves as the ADEAM global flagship store, especially because our only stand-alone boutique is in Tokyo.” The designer points to the site’s “clean and modern” look—a perfect match for her fresh, contemporary designs—as a key part of its “global, universal appeal,” an important aspect for a line that is spreading across to the Middle East and Europe this year. “I’m excited to see the evolution of the site, and also see how it’s going to grow ADEAM as a brand.”
