GOLDEN GOOSE UPDATES HARRIS TWEED FOR A NEW CENTURY

The Italian label Golden Goose Deluxe Brand is best known for the cult following of its stylish sneakers, but is venturing further into fashion this fall with a new Scotland-inspired collaboration with the unique handmade fabric Harris Tweed filled with tartan pieces that mesh perfectly with GGDB’s signature sleek cuts and vintage accents.

Long known for its contemporary sensibilities, GGDB was founded in 2000, when the Venetian husband-and-wife duo of Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo decided to combine their passion for art and fashion into one label. They rose to prominence in the United States when their Golden Boot, a modernized Western-style boot with simple lines and whipstitching, hit shelves and GGDB has been a street style favorite ever since. Recently, the brand has expanded to include Golden Goose clothing, offering structured silhouettes balanced with weathered accents and a timeworn feel.

The new collaboration includes two exclusive colors of Harris Tweed, protected and governed by the Harris Tweed Act since 1993. Cozy jackets, structured pants, and of course a pair of their iconic sneakers will be available, all accented with the handwoven fabric, which is made from pure virgin wool dyed and spun on the Outer Hebrides. In keeping with its vision of bringing tradition into a new age, GGDB is set to give Harris Tweed a modern update.
