KIM ANN FOXMAN

No New York Fashion Week would be complete without a Last Magazine dance party, and no Last Magazine dance party would be complete without a killer set list. And Kim Ann Foxman delivered spectacularly this season. The multi-talented singer/DJ/producer led an enthusiastic crowd through an all-night run of pitch-perfect tracks, ensuring the dancefloor downstairs at Acme was never less than tightly-packed. Here, Foxman shares some of her favorite party tracks and tells us what to look out for in the coming months.

JONATHAN SHIA What was your process behind putting together the playlist for The Last Magazine‘s party?

KIM ANN FOXMAN I really didn’t think, I just brought all my favorite tunes and I played whatever I felt in the moment. It was such a fun party, I was so happy to play it.

JS What were some of your favorite tracks that you played at The Last Magazine‘s party?

KF Snuff Crew featuring Tyree Cooper’s “Work It Out,” Blondes’ “Water (Bicep Remix),” KiNK & Neville Watson featuring Kim Ann Foxman’s “A Saturday in November (Dub),” Maya Jane Coles’ “What They Say,” and K.E.L.S.E.Y.’s “This Way.”

JS What are some of the artists working now that you think are the most interesting?

KF Azari & III has a really fun live show. It’s my favorite current dance act at the moment. They are really good live. There are so many good new dance music producers as well. I really like Omar-S, Legowelt, Bicep, Maya Jane Coles, KiNK.

JS What other interesting projects are you working on now?

KF I’m really working on my own solo stuff right now. I have done a bunch of collaborations with other people that will be out this year that I am quite excited about. I’m not sure if you can reveal whose albums I’ll be appearing on this year or not. I think surprises are sexy anyway. Please keep your ears peeled. I do have a remix coming out real soon that I did for X-Press 2 called “Let Love Decide.”
