LVMH PRIZE SHORTLIST
Here at The Last Magazine, we love to celebrate new designers, and we’ve been lucky to feature some of today’s most interesting talents in our past issues. We also know how difficult it is to set up shop in the industry, which is why we appreciate initiatives like the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and the new LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers, which offer not just reward money, but essential mentoring and support to the winners as well. This morning, the team behind the first-ever LVMH Prize announced their shortlist of thirty designers under forty—culled from an astounding 1,221 applicants from around the world—and we were pleased to find several of our favorites included. A panel of experts will whittle the shortlist down to ten finalists next month, and a board of LVMH creative directors—Nicolas Ghesquière, Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, Phoebe Philo, Raf Simons, and Riccardo Tisci—and executives will choose the eventual winner of the three hundred thousand euros and twelve months of assistance in May. Take a look back at our past profiles of shortlist members Tim Coppens, Jacquemus, Simone Rocha, and Thomas Tait, and visit LVMHPrize.com for more information.
